In conditions which were far from ideal, the boys from Paul Roos Gim did all that was required to secure a precious hard-fought win against Bishops on the Piley Rees. The rain and the wind and the heavy outfield possibly suited their game more, and they were able to take advantage in the second half, having changed ends with just a slender lead of 5-0. Playing with greater confidence with the wind at their backs, their back-line came into its own after half-time, running in three tries before the home team narrowed the deficit in the final moments of the game. In the end, resolute defence by the visitors and just too many handling errors would count against the hosts whose set-piece faltered on the day; a number of opportunities were squandered too, when their opposition appeared to be on the back foot. To their credit, the boys in blue never once gave up the challenge, fighting hard until the final whistle.
